But after checking going through some replies to the posts up here, I think I might have some outside help after all. After going through all the spam up here, it's fortunate that I actually caught some real messages. Thanks a bunch peeps!

In other news, Lunchbox has released his mixtape for free download on http://www.weareomniverse.com/. That should hold you guys over for our Epoxy project, which is about 86% complete.

I'm also working with Precise Hero on a short colab called "Daydreamer Dialog". More news on that as it develops.

So yeah, gotta redesign this website, or rather get someone to redesign the website, or just figure out how to do it myself. Man, Dreamweaver is pretty hard to manipulate.

I've been hustlin' more at work lately, so I haven't had time to mess with much of anything music related. Lately, I've been getting back into is slowly but surely. Trying to fulfill a mass amount of commitments and balance this military instructor job can get kinda hectic at times.

Don't fret, there will be new music coming from myself and others. I'll even put up a few more Epoxy tracks seeing how both the EP and LP are nearing completion. For all intents and purposes though, the EP is pretty much done.

In other news, I've got a review for Sound Design @ The Run-Off Groove. That's a link back there. Pretty favorable (thx Johnbook).

Other than that, I think I'm gonna start looking to get this pressed up overseas. I've just gotta get more ears to the sound.

Alright, hopefully the next post won't be 4 months from now....

I've been editing this page with updates strong since October 10th. For those actually around to notice, thank you. There are a few changes....

I've added download links to the right just above the player to all my older material (in order of completion)and Service Pack 1. I figure they should be available here rather than SoundClick. This also give me the chance to take down Service Pack 1 in favor of some new material. I just haven't made up my mind on what to add.

If you go to the store, you will see a new purchase button for Freon. Yeah, I'm going to test the Mp3 market. A little bit cheaper than the cd ($7.00) and Paypal distribution is still in effect for now.

Meanwhile, My next project, The Chameleon Dynamic", has hit a minor bump in the road. I'm still working on it, it's just going to take a little bit more time. In the meantime, an EP of sorts will take it's place in the form of "Sound Design". It is complete, but a CD release is going to take at least 3 months. So to speed things up a little bit, I've decided to release it MP3 as well. I just have to figure out the best option/medium to put it out there. I'm open to suggestions, so feel free to hit me up.

Thank you all as always for listening.

All of my older junk is there for free download.

The Myspace page.

Various people in the past month have been inquiring about how to get to my music. So, for those that "Musta Forgot", There you go. Look to the right on the front page of Obsidianblue.com and you'll see the store where you can purchase "Soul Conditioning" & "Freon".

I'm going to start up a mailing list again. I lost previous mailing lists, so I'm pretty sure that I will not have everyone that might want some news concerning yours truly. So the mailing list is basically going to consist of anyone that has purchased a CD from me. I've still have at least 300 paypal receipts with email addresses on them, so I'll use those. Anyone else that wants to get on the mailing list, just email me @ NautilusNT@gmail.com.

And now, welcome to "Future Projects"
The Chameleon Dynamic - This summer if we're lucky
Beautiful Things - Ballad Instrumental project in the works (Feb 08?)
The Epoxy - Vivid Strokes of Reality - Still in progress

You'll be hearing music from all of those projects in the months to come. I've still got a .zip file of older colabs & Remixes to upload, and I might have time for Service Pack 2.
I'm trying my best to hustle to get all this material out there so there won't be that "where's Obsidian Blue" question. But quite frankly, I'd rather take my time and do it right the first time.

That should do it for now. Thank you all once again for checking me out. There's a poll on Okayplayer.com asking the masses where Freon stands musically. I'd love to gauge everyone's opinion.

1. Thanks Jilly for updating my movable type. Now I won't have to delete as many comments trying to get me to explore the various adventures of girls under 18 and the midgets who love them.

2. Happy New Year!!!! You know, no matter how many famous people that died before the new year (James Brown, Gerald Ford, Saddam Hussain) there are soo many more ordinary people that did but wasn't worthy of CNN coverage. Think about that.

3. How's the Service Pack? I've recieved nothing but good things about this, which makes kinda worried for some reason (somebody's gotta say it's wack sometime). Anyway, I've got this new "Forbidden Elixir" in the player, consisting of samples provided by RJD2 via Okayplayer.com.

4. Happy Birthday Dad! His Birthday was on the 12 of this month, marking it 2 years since Freon's release. Man, I've got to release something new.

5. Don't be afraid to leave comments or hit up the guestbook.

Since I don't have a forum (and don't really have the need for one just yet) Let's get a question/answer session going. Email me at lividparadox@hotmail.com with "O-Blue Question" in the subject line, and i'll post the question and answer on this website. To start off, I've already got a couple...

1. Will there be a Service Pack 2?

No, not right away anyway. What I think I will do is add like 5-11 more beats, take out a lot of the Omni/Beatfanatic/Freon stabs and call something like Service Pack 1 Beta 2 and sell it for like 5-7 dollars. I don't know yet. I would like to have at least 35-40 beats on the CD before I even think about packaging it.

2. When will The Chameleon Dynamic be finished?

Well, as of right now, I'm in the middle of a bind concerning that project. I think I might even change the name, but I'm trying not to. Once I can gather a central theme together and musical direction, I'll be fine. But for the moment, I still don't see it being finished until next year sometime, concidering that I still have Epoxy business to attend to.

3. Any particular reason why it takes so long to get CD's when they are ordered?

Well, since Paypal and I are handling distribution, I just send them through first class mail and be done with it. As we all know, the USPS sucks at times. Some locations are faster than others. Also, some times i'm kinda slow getting to the post office either because of my work schedule or lack of CD's (which I'm going to have to get more pressed up soon)In the future projects, I'll be using priority mail. I'll also explore UPS, but i'm sure it's going to more than priority mail. Also, don't be afraid to email me if there are any concerns.

Keep these Questions coming. As long as they are not TOO out there, i'll reply.

It's been a long time since i've updated this page, so I vowed not to even write anything unless i've got some new music to put up. Thus, Service Pack 1 in the player. If you look hard enough in this post, you'll find a link to download it. For those that are interested in any of these beats, just hit me up a lividparadox@hotmail.com. Now mind you, these are just simple beats to me. For those who gets them, there will be more added to them to make them more of a composition rather than just a simple beat. At $500 per joint, any of these are a bargan. and no, this is not the next instrumental project from myself. "The Chameleon Dynamic" is still a few months away from completion, but The Epoxy's "Vivid Strokes Of Reality" is inches away from the finish line. So, just hold tight, there is much more music to come, and I've still got some music I promised you all earlier that I have to upload to the site. Have you all found that link yet?

VSOR Sampler Mirror 2

This is a piece of what i've been working on these past months. The Epoxy (composed of myself and Lunchbox the Narcoleptic) have been working pretty hard on this project, especially considering our distance apart. Now with my recent move to Texas complete (we'll speak about that later), we can move forward and finish up the 4-5 tracks remaining.

This has been up since Saturday, posted on various message boards, but we haven't recieved much reception yet. I'm optimistic however, simply because I know that this music isn't garbage. The sampler also includes 2 full tracks, "Density Pt 4" and "Latitude", tracks which i'll probably put in the player later on this week.

Also, i'm going to be putting up another zip file of music, basically made up of various songs i've done with other artists, remixes, and instrumental tracks that didn't make the cut of "Freon". Don't have a name for it, but it will be up for download soon.

Thank you all again for listening, and let me know you all think of the sampler.

It's been 2 days since I received word that James Yancey aka Jay Dee passed away on February 10th, and I still can't gather into words what I felt when I first read the text message. Distraught? Saddened? Crushed? Devastated? Maybe, but I don't really think so. It's more of a mixture of emotions that I couldn't really put into words until now.

It's truly a shame that a man who is only 4 years older than myself passes away so early. As great and influential as he is to music and will continue to be for many years to come, it's a shame that it will take his death for the rest of the world to realize that fact. But you know, most importantly, many of you mourning his death will not take heed and learn something from his passing. So many hungry producers will still create beats according to Dilla's example, ingredients that include overwork, poor diet, and Lord knows whatever else he was doing that contributed to his liver rupturing. Life is so much more than music, your job, money, sex, popularity, clothes, and so forth. These words come from not only my respect for Jay Dee, but my love for all mankind.

Now, I think that covers about 25% of what I felt when I first read the news. I had a lot of time to think, seeing how I was attending a funeral at the time. Go figure. At the funeral, the minister stressed the importance that we should not grieve. This should be a celebration of life, a time where it is recognized that this man's soul does not have to endure the drudgery of this world anymore.

And then I though to myself, oh the sacrilege of tributes that's soon to come to honor J Dilla. Trust me, I understand how you guys feel, but please be careful. Just look at what Puffy's doing to honor Biggie's memory and do the opposite of that. Personally, I don't want to do one. One tribute, a series of tributes, this message, can't POSSIBLY encompass what his mere influence has meant to me. If anything, my entire catalog would be my tribute. From my first loop I ever made in Goldwave to the last song I'll ever finish, if there wasn't a Jay Dee, there wouldn't be this sound that is Obsidian Blue. Point blank.

The closest I’ve gotten to him was me being added to his myspace friend list, so my heart really goes out to those who REALLY knew him, knew his heart. Peace to family, friends, closest associates, and all others that truly know the caliber of man that we all will be missing from this world.

I'm pretty sure that my man below wouldn't want his family grieving over him for that long. Once again, peace to family and friends, and thanks those who signed the questbook sending condolences.

So, let's see what has happened since then........

Since i've started to move into a house, 3 of those have fallen through, so I'm still in an apartment surrounded by boxes. About a month later, Brandie and I leave for South Carolina for her family reunion. I'm happy cause i'm leaving Oklahoma, but then i'm also pissed because my laptop screen chose to die again for the 3rd time right before this trip, so I couldn't work on any material. Then there's the drive back(oh yeah, we drove 20 hours there and another 20 hours back, no stops aside from gas and more gas) that we run into a little rain from that b!%#h Katrina. Peace to all the families affected. Has anyone seen or heard from Rod Deloach?

Anyway, the drive was wonderful because there was no arguments between Brandie and I. Then I return to the apartment with all the damn boxes and contemplate how many more homes would fall through my fingers. So far, another one bites the dust.

Hopfully, I'll be in something before October, so with this housing setback, I'd like to make a few announcements.....

1. I just got another 100 CD's of Freon. I just hooked my main computer BACK up so now I can make those copies of Soul Conditioning that I need to send some folks. Peeps that have recent (or in most cased 'delayed')orders will be getting them pretty soon. Thanks for your patience.

2. The Epoxy project with myself and Lunchbox is about at the halfway point. Lunch already has a few joints from this project on his EP, "Don't Say I Aint Never Gave You Anything". Run to the OMNi Website to pick that up. Also, we hope to get tracks on other mixtapes in the near future. I'll let you know.

3. After 40 hours on the highway last week, I decided to release a psudo-mixtape consisting of my first side projects with MC's, as well as a few remixes on the side. Look for "Joint Audio Sessions", Vol 1" sometime around January. This offering should hold you all until "The Auditory Nerve" is finished.

As for the player, I have no idea of what i'm going to add or remove for this update. I plan on making those changes this weekend to this site and to all my others (Soundclick, Myspace, why use my bandwidth for downloading?) Thanks for visiting.

I remember a day that Daniel and I wondered what our future would be like. The thought of us (and a few other people at the time)chilling out together as older men was just enough for the imagination. I'm still pretty curious to see what that day would be like, but it saddens me to think that D' will never find out.

Daniel Brian Sturdivant (D') died on the 22nd of July, just shy of his 25th birthday. I post this update in celebration of his life; to look back at a man who cherished his family, a man who loved to live despite his shortcomings, and a friend who could REALLY care less about the next person's opinion, no matter who it was.

To his mother & father, immediate & extended family, I send my deepest condolences. His spirit will continue to shine despite his death. In this dedication to Daniel I would also like to encourage everyone to love who cared enough to stop by to live life to the fullest and love one another. Please stop this hatred for the sake of hatred. Life is simply too short to concentrate on such petty indifferences.

When I first met D' in Biloxi, he had always spoke of living his life efficiently, using "Scrupulous Technique" to take care of business, in all aspects of life. In the player, Scrupulous Technique is for you D'. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Rest in peace.
